I choose to mount my work on wood instead of traditional framing or canvas prints.  The Giclée prints are mounted on medium density fiber board. Due to the sturdy and durable consistency of the material, this substrate is the best surface to adhere your photos. Acid free DMT dry mount material that is heat activated to permanently adhere the print to the board...at the same time, creating a barrier from allowing air to reach the image. After that, the image is pressed to the board, and finished by pressing a UV protective shield to the surface of the image. This dual process adds to the archival claim of the paper and ensures the longevity of the image.

Why don't I frame my work? First, there is no glass. Most glass causes annoying reflections (obstructing the view of the print) and can easily break. The wood mounts have a presentation that more resembles canvas. However, canvas prints often "soften" the focus of the print. The wood mounts produce extra sharp images with vivid colors because we start with a Giclée print.

Unless specified, I will produce your print on black wood. However, there are numerous other color options available. If you think a different color might work better for your wall, let me know because we have 18 different options.

Here is a brief description of some options you have:

Wood Lite:  A photo mounted on a beveled 3/8 inch board.  The photo has UV protection and does not need glass.  It is mounted flush on the wall with one screw.  A wood Lite should not be used for pieces larger than 20x30.

Wood Box: This is my favorite. It's sturdy and substantial, with a clean finished quality that surpasses the simplistic look of canvas stretched around a back-frame. The Box mount is 1 1/4 " thick.
